The department employs a full time public fire educator who provides fire safety education for schools, daycares and civic organizations as requested.  The coordinator also assists in setting up public relation events with each station as required.  These include station tours, education for scouting organizations, appearances and birthday parties, etc.  If you would like to arrange an event please contact the Public Education Coordinator at (281) 607-4667.

Free Fire Safety Prevention Programs

Programs offered include:

  • Children’s school programs; preschool – grade 12
  • Cub Scout and Girl Scout station tours
  • Fire extinguisher classes
  • Businesses; fire safety programs
  • Retirement community programs
  • Business grand opening events
  • House visits for Birthday parties
  • Others available upon request 

Other Public Education Programs

Programs offered include:

  • Car seat checks - done in conjunction with Cypress Creek EMS. By appointment only on Wednesday's from 9:00 - 11:30. Call Kris at 281-378-0800 to make an appointment.
  • Safe@Home is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. Safe@Home is a 90-minute program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter First Aid Chart to learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. 
  • registered sitterSafe Sitter® classes prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use CPR manikins to practice choking rescue!
